"I may not be the best at navigating your politics."

About

Cyridan Amiraul, the half-Ishgardian head of House Amiraul, has made one hell of a name for himself in the seventeen years since his moving to the frozen citystate. The son of an Ishgardian soldier-turned-merchant and a Gridanian huntress, Cyridan was brought to Ishgard as a teenager. After working his way through the Scholasticate and beginning his training in the Ishgardian military, a bid was placed on Cyridan to join House Dzaemel. An eager student of architecture and construction, Cyridan began to distinguish himself in the twilight of the Dragonsong War; both his work repairing and generating structures and his prowess on the battlefield as a budding Dragoon. He's grown into a tall man, Cyridan Amiraul, with a long mop of deep purple hair trailing just past his shoulders and streaked with white. His face is soft, features less angular and sharp than many of his Elezen brothers and sisters. His eyes already show signs of crow's feet, and smile lines crease his skin. A lanky frame is covered in surprisingly tight cords of muscle, frequently hidden beneath whatever finery or armor he finds himself in. Still new to the more intimate details and to-dos of Ishgardian politics, Cyridan has recently been elevated to heading a new minor Noble house under Dzemael's banner.

RP Hooks

Arcane Dragoon

Cyridan made a name for himself during the Dragonsong War as a dragoon by combining Ishgardian techniques with Arcanist spellcraft - the pairing of Ishgardian symbology and semiotics with Arcanist theorems yielded potent results against dragons and men alike, particularly when made in large sweeping patterns with the tip of a spear or glaive. Perhaps you've heard of or seen these practices?

Minor Noble

"Cyridan Amiraul, first of his House, ally to House Dzemael." So he was declared, and so he shall be. Cyridan is, however, still new to Ishgardian politics and is almost always out of his depth.

Half-Gridanian

Cyridan is very clearly only half-Ishgardian; his mannerisms, even after his seventeen years in Ishgard, retain bits of Gridanian accent and movement to them. He is also very clearly a Duskwight, and his a history of breaking the noses of people who remark "disfavorably" upon his heritage.

Lissandra Kolaire

The younger sister of Avelle Kolaire, Lissandra has become like a little sister to Cyridan. He teases the girl for her short height often, but is also fiercely protective of her.

Sylvain Argenvent

Sylvain is Cyridan's oldest friend in Ishgard, and is responsible for introducing the Dragoon to Avelle. A prominent noble himself, Sylvain has been a staunch supporter and voice in Cyridan's corner during his early years navigating the peculiarities of Ishgard's culture.

Avelle Kolaire

Avelle Kolaire is one of Cyridan's oldest friends in Ishgard - the two become close during their time in the Scholasticate alongside Sylvain Argenvent. Cyridan has been smitten with Avelle since the moment they met, though he has never made this infatuation known.

Yseult Argenvent

Younger sister to Sylvain, Yseult has tried to teach Cyridan how to navigate Ishgardian politics - indeed, there should have been no better teacher. Much to Yseult's chagrin, however, Cyridan is hopelessly incapable of political maneuvering or subterfuge.

OOC

Hello! Thanks for digging through all that - unless you skipped to this tab, in which case thanks for skipping ahead this far!I'm a 21+ and I think generally friendly player; walk ups and whispers are always welcome. Discord less so - if we vibe well I'll usually hand it out for more RP or OOC shenanigans.I'm looking forward to RPing more after a five-ish year long hiatus, and will eventually be running some TTRPG-style content in-game and out, so I hope you stick around!I'm also a fan of GPosing pictures and adding more people to Cyri's 'Connections' tab; if we RP together long enough, I'd love to get you added!
